The theme of Japaneses artist Nobuhiro Nakanishi work is “the physical that permeates into the art piece.” Laser print mounted with plexiglass acrylic and layered in a way that it all come up as some intriguing sculpture installations. ” In a foggy landscape, we no longer see what we are usually able to see – the distance to  the traffic light, the silhouette of the trees, the slope of the ground. Silhouettes, distance and horizontal sense all become vague. When we perceive this vagueness, the water inside the retina and skin dissolve outwardly toward the infinite space of the body surface.

The landscape continues to flow, withholding us from grasping anything solid. By capturing spatial change and the infinite flow of time, I strive to produce art that creates movement between the artwork itself and the viewer’s experience of the artwork.

3D String sculptures by Hong Sung Chul

South Korean artist Hong Sung Chul creates three-dimensional string sculptures where images of people are printed across hundreds of elastic strings. This series entitled String Mirrors. Using various media and modern technology, prompts interaction and performance from his viewers. Hong initiates a dialogue with and between viewers, instilling the sense of community prised in Korean culture. These strings are staggered in his works and interlace to reveal a final representation – one of support or loneliness.

These are so much fun.  I love how each costume is bizarre and colorful.  I bet it is amazing to watch them move in person and during a performance.

Here is a gallery that represents his work: Jack Shainman Gallery

Here is his website, which is incredibly creative in its presentation: SoundsuitShop
